Read what former players and staff have to say about us..

Our Football philosophy and training methodology (Originated by Guru Coach Ron Smith) have assisted players & athletes to reach their potential and goals and make dreams a reality. Players & athletes that have been influenced by this football philosophy are now playing football professionally domestically and internationally and have and are also representing Australia on the International stage, playing for the Socceroos.

Mia McGovern

Australian Under 17s Junior Matildas Player

The School of Football program has been integral in my development as a player. Milo and Ray are master coaches and provide an outstanding environment to challenge and support your technical development as a player. They know what it takes to be successful and teach the technical habits required to be a quality international or professional player. The very specific guidance and advise around the subtle technical requirements of the game make this a unique program and one that I will continue to use to progress my development as a player. They simplify the requirements of the game and provide a very enjoyable learning environment.

George Timotheou

Schalke 04

My 20 year old son George was coached by Milo in the ACTAS program during 2011 and 2012. I cannot speak highly enough of how Milo transformed (technically, physically, and mentally) the then teenage George from a highly talented but raw ACT footballer into a potential professional. He became disciplined, focussed and capable of taking the next steps on that journey. His path since then has included an AIS scholarship, National Youth League, A-League contract, NSWNPL and just recently signed a contract as an U23 player for Schalke in Germany. In my view Milo was a critical part of that early process.

Mark Milligan

Australian National Team / Melbourne Victory

The AIS and more importantly Steve O'connor and Ray Junna gave me the platform to move from amateur football into the professional ranks. I learnt things under them that I still use in my game today. The footballing knowledge and life lessons they gave me have been invaluable both in football and my everyday life.

Carl Valeri

Australian National Team / Melbourne Victory

I was lucky enough to be coached by Ray Junna and Steven O'connor for nearly 5 years. They taught me everything I know. I still apply these skills in my game today at Melbourne Victory. Skills, including moving the ball in tight spaces, lots of passing and shooting techniques, body positioning, as well as how to be a better athlete and even better person. Without their help and these fundamental skills I would not have been able to play professionally in Italy for over a decade or represent Australia at every level, including at the 2010 World Cup.

Matt McKay

Australian National Team / Brisbane Roar

Having being coached and mentored by Reggie while at the AIS, I know how much he helped develop my game. His football philosophies and game understanding made me see the game in a new way and made me a better player. This along with his technical coaching made my skills improve and got me ready for the challenges of professional football. I look back fondly at my time under his tutelage and would encourage everyone to reap the benefits of his academy.

Bruce Djite

Australian National Team / Former Adelaide United

I have no doubt that I could not have achieved anything in my career without the high level of coachingI received from Reggie in Canberra during my time at the AIS. Reggie is a fantastic coach, who makes every training session enjoyable whilst making sure players are continually improving everyday

Cameron Watson

Australian National Team / Former Adelaide United

My 2 years at the AIS under the guidance of Ray Junna and Steve O'Connor propelled my game to a whole new level and helped me grow as an individual. Every training session was thoroughly enjoyable! Knowing the past players that had graduated i.e. Mark Bresciano, Vince Grella, I knew I was in great hands. If I could, I would do it all over again!" Much thanks to both of you!!

Nikolai Topor-Stanley

Australian National Team / Newcastle Jets

My experience at the AIS was invaluable for my football education. Being a first class sporting environment, combined with excellent coaching gave me the tools to transition into professional football.

Under the coaching of Steve O'Connor and Ray Junna, we as young footballers, had the opportunity to learn and work on fundamental football skills and tactics on a daily basis, which was a crucial part of my development.

It was a steep learning curve, but it provided me with football knowledge that could not be found anywhere else, and challenged me to improve my game day in day out. To learn my craft from some of Australia's best coaches, who have overseen countless of Australians who have turned into football professionals, played a big part of where I am today and I'm very thankful that I had the opportunity to do so.
